Commission Confirms Four Justices to Bay Area Appellate Courts
The confirmation votes come just two weeks before Newsom faces a recall election that could put another governor with very different views on judicial appointments in the statehouse. California’s 58 trial courts have 91 vacancies, according to the most recent figures available from the Judicial Council. There are eight vacancies on the court of appeal.
