​The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a full road closure on Oakland Avenue (Route 286) in White Township, Indiana County, July 19 through July 26, 2021 weather permitting for the replacement of an existing box culvert.

The closure will occur on Oakland Avenue between State Route 4422 (Indian Springs Road) and State Route 3043 (Rose Street). 

Local traffic will have access to the Indiana Mall and Kwik Fill on the west side and Roseann's and Wash Werkz on the east side.

Motorists should detour using State Route 4422 (Indian Springs Road), State Route 4005 (Wayne Avenue) and State Route 3043 (Rose Street).

Crews from Gulisek Construction, LLC will conduct the operations.

The work is part of the $19.83 million Route 286/U.S. 422 widening and resurfacing project which includes the widening of Route 286 and the U.S. 422 interchange, replacement of the bridge over McCarthy Run Creek, and the installation of sidewalks along Route 286. Other work includes drainage and guide rail upgrades and traffic signal replacements.
