Chip sealing on US-31 in Emmet and Cheboygan counties starts next week

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $514,000 to chip seal nearly 6 miles of US-31 from Carp Lake River near Munger Road to I-75.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: This work will require daytime single-lane closures with traffic regulators. Both lanes will be open during non-work hours.
SAFETY BENEFITS: In addition to preserving the lower layers of the roadway, this project includes new pavement markings.
