Route 366 Tarentum Bridge Long-Term Closure Begins Next Week in Tarentum
Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a long-term closure on the Tarentum Bridge (Route 366) in Tarentum Borough, Allegheny County will begin Wednesday, June 9, weather permitting.
A closure of the Tarentum Bridge over the Allegheny River will begin at approximately 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, June 9. The eastbound direction of the bridge (heading toward New Kensington) will be closed until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 13, while the westbound direction (heading toward Tarentum) will be closed until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 27. Crews will perform expansion dam replacement operations and install concrete overlay on the bridge ramps. Bridge traffic will be detoured.

Make a left onto Ninth Street and cross the C.L. Schmitt (New Kensington) Bridge
Take a right to Freeport Road
Follow Freeport Road to Ross Street

Additionally, single-lane restrictions will occur in the westbound direction of the bridge to allow crews to conduct preparatory work ahead of the closure beginning 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 8 until the bridge closes at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.
This $3.24 million bridge rehabilitation project will include new latex modified overlay, steel repairs, bearing and expansion dam replacement, concrete substructure repairs, and zone painting. Westbound single-lane restrictions will occur while crews work. The overall project is expected to conclude in the fall of 2021.
