Concord, NH –Educators interested in incorporating wildlife and habitat lessons into their curriculum are invited to join the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department for a two-part professional development workshop starting today. This first-ever remote Below Zero Workshop is intended for instructors of children in grades K-12 and is designed to help incorporate winter ecology, nature, wildlife, and science activities into the classroom, encouraging students to engage with the winter world around them.

Developed by the Canadian Wildlife Federation, the first segment of the Below Zero Workshop includes the completion of several self-paced online modules using Google Classroom. This virtual tutorial experience will be available for registered participants beginning Today, February 1, and will run through February 19.

The second part of this course is a live Zoom follow-up meeting that will take place later in February. Participants can choose from either Wednesday, February 17 at 4:00 p.m. or Friday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. They will receive the link to their selected Zoom session in the Google Classroom once they have completed their online coursework.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of New Hampshire, the cost for this workshop is only $10.00! Once registered, participants will receive an email with instruction outlining how to submit their payment. Official registrants will also be mailed the Below Zero Activity Guide curriculum book.
