Department of Natural Resources awards $22,400 grant to Clarence
City will make water treatment system improvements
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, FEB. 3, 2021 - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded a $22,400 Clean Water Engineering Report Grant to the city of Clarence to evaluate the city’s wastewater system. The grant program offers funding to help small communities cover engineering costs for evaluating wastewater system improvements.
The city will use the grant to identify wastewater system improvements needed to continue reliable service to the area and meet permit requirements. The facility plan is expected to be completed in September 2022.
Wastewater systems are essential infrastructure that support the health and economic vitality of a community. This grant will allow the city to assess its treatment plant and identify improvements for better efficiency and effectiveness.
