President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulates Gazprom Neft on its 25th anniversary

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has congratulated Gazprom Neft staff on the company’s 25th anniversary, in a telegram reading as follows.

“The years since its establishment have seen Gazprom Neft become a successful and competitive domestic oil and gas company, becoming a recognised leader in the production, refining and sale of oil products, and a major player in the global energy market.

Thanks to the wide-ranging deployment of innovative technologies, good and effective managerial decision making, and the creative and constructive work of highly qualified staff — geologists, engineers, drilling technicians and other specialists — the company is growing fast, expanding both geographically and in terms of its areas of activity. And, of course, it’s important that Gazprom Neft is keeping environmental protection and nature conservation front of mind, investing major resources in further improving social infrastructure in those locations in which the company operates, developing the company’s human resources, and creating new, forward-looking jobs.”

OAO Siberian Oil Company (Sibneft) was incorporated on 6 October 1995. The company was acquired by the Gazprom Group in 2005 and renamed Gazprom Neft.

The company has, over the years, increased the size and scale of its business several times over, evolving from a regional player to become a world-class industry leader in technology. Gazprom Neft’s production and refining volumes today place it among the top-three companies in Russia’s oil industry by production and refining volumes. Its corporate structure comprises more than 70 production, refining and sales subsidiaries throughout Russia, the CIS, and globally, with a business covering 110 countries worldwide.
