Governor hints misdemeanor diversion bill will be amended
(Subscription required) Gov. Gavin Newsom eased some concerns of prosecutors in signing a bill that will allow judges to grant diversion for almost all misdemeanors, hinting it will be amended next year to exclude driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
