Production of diesel fuels at Gazprom Neft’s own refineries — in Moscow and Omsk — is up 1.6% in H1 2020, to 4.48 million tonnes. Total gasoline production is down to H1 2019 levels, at 3.91 million tonnes. Refining depth (the conversion rate) at Gazprom Neft’s Moscow and Omsk Refineries increased by 2.5 percentage points, to 84.4% and 94.0%, respectively. The ongoing modernisation programme currently being undertaken across Gazprom Neft’s refining facilities has ensured efficient production in the face of current market trends.
Production of marine fuels at Gazprom Neft refineries also increased during this reporting period, up eight percent, to 1.28 million tonnes. Production of branded road and construction bitumens, including innovative polymer-modified binders (PMBs), was up 19%, to 908,000 tonnes. Fuel oil production continued to decrease, dropping 31% year-on-year. The company’s Moscow and Omsk Refineries together processed a total 14.7 million tonnes of crude.

Gazprom Neft’s Moscow and Omsk Refineries are continuous-production facilities, at which multiple initiatives have been put in place to combat the spread of COVID-19, including regular preventative testing of employees.
Gazprom Neft is undertaking a major programme to modernise its Moscow and Omsk Refineries, involving a total investment of more than RUB650 billion. The first stage of this modernisation has involved the construction and reconstruction of key technological facilities, allowing the complete transition to the production of Euro-5 fuels, significantly improving energy efficiency and environmental friendliness in production. The implementation of the second phase of the modernisation programme is ongoing, as a result of which refining depth (the “conversion rate”) and light product yield will increase to match those of the best refineries, worldwide.
