Gov. Ivey awards two grants to equip police in southeast Alabama
With a $23,960 grant, the city of Headland will purchase laptops, digital printers and body cameras. The town of Level Plains will use a $23,015 grant to purchase Tasers, body cameras, radar equipment and driver’s license scanners.
“Properly equipping our law enforcement officers enables them to do their jobs more efficiently and effectively,” Ivey said. “I am pleased to award these grants to provide needed equipment to officers in Headland and Level Plains.”
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grants from funds made available by the U.S. Department of Justice.
“Gov. Ivey strongly supports our law enforcement officers, and ADECA stands with her and commends them for their service to their residents,” ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell said.
ADECA administers a wide range of programs that support law enforcement, economic development, water resource management, energy conservation and recreation.
