West Fourth Street Reconstruction Project, Paving will Begin in Williamsport Next Week

​Montoursville, PA – Construction work will continue on Route 2014 (West Fourth Street) between Arch Street and Oliver Avenue in the Newberry section of Williamsport, Lycoming County.

On Monday, June 1, the contractor, Wolyniec Construction, Inc., will begin placing a reinforcement layer on the roadway followed by a new wearing course on top of the reinforcement layer. The final wearing course will be paved late next week. Traffic will be controlled by single lane closures under flagging.

The last section of full depth reconstruction is scheduled for Mid-June of 2020.

Work is expected to be completed in Fall of 2020.

Wolyniec Construction, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $5.8 million project.

Motorists should remain alert, slow down, expect lane changes, travel delays, and drive with caution through the construction zone.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.
