Civil War in Missouri focus of Sept. 8 presentation at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 29, 2018 – Battle of Lexington State Historic Site invites the public to a special presentation about the Civil War in Missouri 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the historic site. Giving the presentation will be Joseph McCoskrie and Brian Warren, authors of the book The Civil War Missouri Compendium: Almost Unabridged. They will help participants examine Missouri’s role in the Civil War and why it is often overlooked by historians. After the presentation, McCoskrie and Warren will be available for a book signing.
