Gazpromneft-Khantos LLC was founded in 2005 and is one of Gazprom Neft’s key E&P enterprises. The company is engaged in exploration and production at fields throughout the Khanty Mansiysk Autonomous Region and the Tomsk Oblast, including the Yuzhno-Priobskoye, the Zimnee, Yuzhnoye, Orekhovo-Ermakovskoye, Maloyuganskoye, Alexander Zhagrin and Yuzhno-Kinyaminskoye, and Maloyuganskoye fields.

The introduction of new types of materials is directed at improving efficiency in hydrocarbon production in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. This new approach has been tested at the Yuzhno-Priobskoye field, Gazprom Neft-Khantos’ largest asset, accounting for more than 80 percent of the company’s total annual production, despite this block being impacted by a complex geological structure and low permeability.

* Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is one of the most effective ways of increasing oil production at an asset and increasing the oil recovery factor (ORF), through the high-pressure injection of a mixture of fluids and a special proppant agent into oil-bearing strata, at a depth of several kilometres. This operation creates fissures in the rock, allowing oil to flow into the well. The longer these fissure are, the larger the reservoir area they cover, meaning more hydrocarbons can be produced.
