Hoyer Statement on the White House Meeting on Infrastructure
“I am pleased that Democrats and the President were able to agree this morning on taking a first step toward meeting our infrastructure challenges with a $2 trillion investment. Now, it is up to President Trump to work with us by identifying new revenue to support that investment. Democrats are serious about working across the aisle to build the twenty-first century infrastructure networks we need to remain the world’s leader. That’s a core component of the Make It In America plan, along with entrepreneurship and education and skills training for workers. I look forward to working with committee chairs and Members in this effort, which will create jobs, grow local economies, and ensure that businesses can efficiently move their goods to markets at home and abroad.”
