“As we mark Tax Day, millions of Americans have been left behind by the Republican tax scam enacted last year. The law exploded the deficit by $2 trillion in order to give large corporations and wealthy shareholders the majority of benefits of the law while millions of middle-class tax filers saw their taxes go up and refunds shrink. The law has fallen far short on Republicans’ promises of increased wages and job growth.  House Democrats have held hearings on the negative impact of the law, and we are committed to a fairer tax code for all Americans.”
