A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence.”

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, US, January 10, 2019 / -- On January 27th the Scientology Volunteer Ministers (VMs) who helped throughout 2018 will be awarded and recognized at the historic Fort Harrison in downtown Clearwater for their help to those affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters.

384 Scientology VMs assisted the victims of Hurricanes Michael and Florence which hit the south eastern United States in 2018, providing some 30,000 volunteer hours of disaster relief.

Guests to the event will hear how the VMs cut down trees, tarped roofs, cleaned out a flooded house, and delivered the effective Scientology techniques called “Assists” to bring a person into the present and assist them to recover from the accidents and illnesses. “Assists” are only done as an adjunct to medical treatment.

“Working with like minded groups and other dedicated individuals, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers provide many different kinds of help,” said Ms. Glendy Goodsell, Executive Director of the Scientology VMs. “In a disaster, it takes all shoulders to the wheel to hel the area and the people recover from the devastation.”

The awards banquet dinner begins at 5:30pm. The dress is semi-formal. Entertainment will be included. All are welcome. RSVP required. To reserve your seat or an entire table, RSVP to

About Volunteer Ministers:

Scientology Volunteer Ministers are best known for their work after disasters. Since 9/11, Volunteer Ministers are seen at nearly every disaster worldwide in distinctive yellow shirts, dispensing personal care packages, food and water to those impacted, and especially offering support to the first responders. Individual Volunteer Ministers also help every day in homes and businesses, and present seminars on Tools for Life to help anyone learn to handle all the minor “disasters” that come up in life. L. Ron Hubbard the founder of Scientology and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers program said, “A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things, help others achieve relief from them and new personal strength as well.’
