After the Darkness: A Survivor’s Story of Sexual Abuse and Violence

Overcoming the Nightmare to Living a Meaningful and Fulfilling Life

BARRINGTON, RHODE ISLAND, USA, November 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ --
In her new book, After the Darkness, Reverend Candace Nadine Breen, Ph.D., shares the personal details of her horrific story of abandonment, incest, rape, and assault, and the journey she traveled to overcome the negative impact it had on her life.

Abandoned by her mother as a young child, she was forced to live with her father, whose abusive conduct can only be imagined in our worst nightmares. As a result, throughout her young adult life, she dated abusers. When you grow up with an abuser, your “normal” state of mind means feeling unloved or unwanted. Victims may become embarrassed, depressed, or suicidal, and oftentimes, are bullied by others.

Many children don't survive these traumas, but Candace did. She was able to focus on school, eventually earning a metaphysics doctorate and becoming a Spiritualist Minister. Spiritualists believe that life doesn't end with death. Our spirit leaves our body and goes on to another density. Spiritualists believe that communication with spirits who have left their physical bodies is possible. They concentrate on the metaphysical aspects of our universe.

She focuses on helping others who have been abused, and will be launching a class, "Ten Tools for Your Healing Journey." She will also offer a private online support group for those seeking coaching for healing from all kinds of trauma.

Candace hopes that this book will encourage abused children and formerly abused adults to seek help. She is hoping her story will become a movie that reaches a wider audience and helps victims realize they are not alone and help is available. Candace states, "The more others are encouraged to speak up, the more people who can be helped. People need to recognize the signs of someone who is enduring abuse and trauma to better understand how to help. We need to talk about this more often, making it less of a taboo. Prevention is possible.”

Candace is also the author of The Infinite You: A Journey to Your Greater Self and Beyond, which teaches readers how to develop their internal strength and enrich their own lives via channeled messages and teachings from an entity calling itself “The Collective.”

Candace owns Awakened Path Books, a publishing company that also helps authors with their branding and marketing. Authors write about all things metaphysical, both fiction and nonfiction.
