All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota named "Association of the Year"

ST. PAUL, MN, USA, September 7, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- "This year's Association of the Year Award goes to ATVAM!" exclaimed Marc Hildesheim, project manager with the National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC).

NOHVCC recognized 8 individuals and organizations at its Celebration & Awards Dinner, held August 18, 2018, during the NOHVCC Annual Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The awards are presented in recognition of outstanding achievements that have advanced the NOHVCC mission: "Creating a Positive Future for OHV Recreation."

"The All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota (ATVAM) continues to be a source of leadership in the OHV community in Minnesota. From sponsoring OHV workshops and educational development, to coordinating and conducting trail maintenance, ATVAM can always be depended upon," said Hildesheim.

Ron Potter, ATVAM’s 1st vice-president accepted the award at NOHVCC and on August 28th, presented it to the ATVAM board members attending ATVAM's quarterly meeting with the Parks & Trails Division of the Minnesota DNR. "All ATVAM clubs and their members should feel proud, because this award is their award," said Potter.

In addition to the ATVAM “Association of the Year” Award, NOHVCC presented Mary Straka, OHV Trail Consultant with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources the 2018 Hall of Fame Award from the International Off-Highway Vehicle Administrators Association.

ATVAM has partnered with NOHVCC on major projects for many years. In the past 3 years, ATVAM has worked with NOHVCC and the Minnesota DNR to hold Great Trails Workshops in Akeley, Biwabik and Onamia. ATVAM sponsored this year's Workshop, and worked with NOHVCC's program managers to tailor it to Minnesota, including discussions on mitigating wetlands.
