Gazprom Neft increases direct sales of aviation fuels by 16 percent

Gazpromneft-Aero, operator of the Gazprom Neft aviation refuelling business, has seen a 16-percent year-on-year increase in “wing-tip” refuelling volumes in 1H 2018, to 1.28 million tonnes, further enhancing its leadership of the Russian aviation refuelling market in terms of direct sales. Total aviation fuel sales in the first six months of 2018 were in excess of 1.7 million tonnes, with Gazpromneft-Aero’s clients now including more than 160 Russian and international companies.

Aviation refuelling volumes abroad in 1H 2018 increased 31 percent o, to 120,000 tonnes. The geographic coverage of the sales network expanded to include 253 airports (with three airports joining this year) in 63 countries — achievements that have been made possible by developing partnerships with leading aviation fuel suppliers in local markets.

At home, Gazpromneft-Aero has been developing the largest direct-sales network on the domestic market, with the company’s refuelling complexes now numbering 51.

Vladimir Egorov, CEO, Gazpromneft-Aero, commented: “The first half of 2018 saw us consolidate stable growth in air transportation and fuel consumption. This was facilitated by the World Cup being held in Russia, as well as the appearance of new flight destinations from Russian airports to Europe and Asia. In particular, significant growth in refuelling volumes was achieved in Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Yekaterinburg. A well-developed international sales network, together with high service levels, meant we were able to reach a major landmark in June 2018: Gazprom Neft has now sold more than 30 million tonnes of fuel since establishing its aviation refuelling business. We keep a close eye those flight destinations in greatest demand, and offer airlines cost-effective and profitable refuelling terms in population countries, under optimum conditions.”
