Gazprom further enhances its social partnership with the Orenburg oblast government

Gazprom Neft has concluded a further partnership agreement with the Orenburg Oblast on implementing corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects throughout the region in 2018. The document was signed by Alexander Dyukov, Gazprom Neft CEO, and Yuri Berg, Governor of the Orenburg Oblast.

As part of its “Home Towns” CSR programme the company will provide financial support to rural communities in the Orenburg Oblast to modernise and repair educational and cultural facilities, as well as building a multifunctional sports complex in the village of Samorodovo.

Gazprom Neft will continue running its competitive grant-awards throughout the region, directed at supporting community initiatives and creating an environment to support the continued and sustainable development of those regions in which the company operates. With Gazprom Neft’s support, traditional “Sport in the Yard” (informal five-a-side and other sports competitions between neighbouring apartment blocks ) will continue to be held, as well as the “Stenograffia” Festival: Orenburg school children will also be able to take part in the “Developing Talent” competition, aimed at identifying and developing aptitudes for the oil and gas industry.

The original agreement on social and economic partnership for 2017 — 2019 was signed by the company and the Oblast in June 2016, during the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, and provides for cooperation in implementing investment, social and environmental protection initiatives throughout the region.

Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov commented: “The Orenburg Oblast is one of the most important regions for Gazprom Neft’s activities, and we plan further proactive development here. Since 2010 the company has been actively involved in socially significant projects, in which Gazprom Neft has, over the years, invested m enhancesore than RUB530 million. Initiatives implemented in 2017 include refurbishments to schools, kindergartens and libraries, the opening of a cinema in the Perevolotsky district, the purchase of a minibus for sportsmen in the Orenburgsky district, the purchase of a car for the best teacher in the Novosergeevsky district, organising sports tournaments, and much more. Every such event or initiative improves the Orenburg Oblast and demonstrates Gazprom Neft’s considerable commitment to corporate social responsibility. Signing this further agreement on social and economic partnership will be the starting point for a new stage in our collaboration, which can only be welcomed.”
