Veteran William B. shares how a fateful torpedo blast 50 years ago, began a battle against TBI / PTSD that has ended thanks to the Neuro-Laser Foundation

Indeed, the VA recently admitted that it misdiagnosed TBI in over 25,000 Veterans. So William B., like so many other Veterans went undiagnosed and untreated.”

DENVER, CO, USA, June 8, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Today marks the 50 year anniversary of the controversial attack upon the U.S.S. Liberty, in which 34 Americans were killed and 174 were wounded. The incident was the subject of a Presidential cover-up and was a closely guarded secret for 30 years. Among the survivors of this incident is now Retired U.S. Navy Petty Officer William B. Only 19 at the time, he suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and a spinal cord injury. For William B., the horror of the experience, the pain of his wounds, and the demand for secrecy about the fate of the U.S.S. Liberty crew lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Only recently has William B. received effective treatment for his TBI and PTSD. After years of individual therapy, group therapy, and assorted medications from the Veterans Administration (VA), William discovered the Neuro-Laser Foundation. He underwent treatment with their multi-Watt near-infrared light therapy (NILT) and has seen significant improvement in his cognitive and emotional symptoms. No longer forced to keep silent, William reveals his story of recovery through a Neuro-Laser Foundation video recording and written personal account.

William B. shared his story LIVE at the TBI GALA on April 29, helping raise support for the Neuro-Laser Foundation and a precedent-setting TBI Trial being conducted by co-Founders Dr. Theodore Henderson and Dr. Larry Morries. William B. has been a recipient of subsidized treatment for TBI and PTSD, offered through the Foundation to Veterans and First-Responders.

Six-Day War Briefing — On June 8, 1967, the U.S.S. Liberty was cruising 17 miles off the coast of Israel and Egypt in the international waters of the Mediterranean ocean. That was day four of the “Six-Day War” between Arab and Israeli forces. The ship was an intelligence gathering ship, not geared for defending itself.  Without warning, the ship was attacked by Israeli fighter jets and torpedo boats. Although the attack was significant, due to political pressures, the US Government covered up the attack. Crewmen were forbidden, under penalty of imprisonment, from telling anyone about the attack. This left William B. and the other survivors in a terrible bind, unable to discuss the fateful incident.

William B. gives great detail about his experience during the attack. Read the entire account here.

“We also couldn’t figure why no help came. We did not know this but the USS Saratoga had started to send aircraft, but then they were ordered back to their ship. We were all alone with a damaged ship and more wounded than able-bodied. The dead were put in the food lockers and most of the wounded were laid out in the mess decks. Those unhurt were trying to put out fires, tend to the wounded or keep the ship afloat. The captain was also wounded and was doing his best to keep the ship afloat and moving toward safety.” — William B.

William B. never received the appreciation from his Nation or countrymen for his sacrifice. He suffered in silence for 30 years, because he was forbidden to talk about the source of his emotional and mental trauma. Moreover, his brain injury was never recognized, according to Dr. Henderson.

“Since the symptoms of TBI and PTSD have such large overlap, the VA often only recognizes one of them. Indeed, the VA recently admitted that it misdiagnosed TBI in over 25,000 Veterans. So William B., like so many other Veterans went undiagnosed and untreated,” he said. “Well, its time to right a long-standing wrong. We want to honor this American Hero, along with the others aboard the Liberty.”

In the video, William B. also reveals how his condition has recently improved dramatically, due to treatment from the Neuro-Laser Foundation. This non-invasive, FDA-approved, painless and patented treatment has exceeded expectations in clinical and lab studies, and now awaits a pivotal double-blind, placebo-controlled TBI Trial. Fundraising efforts through the “Say Goodbye TBI” campaign support the non-profit Neuro-Laser Foundation’s research and service to veterans and first-responders.

Dr. Henderson and Dr. Morries have published five studies in the last 24 months demonstrating the efficacy of their new treatment method. To date, every patient receiving the treatment reports significant improvement to both their symptoms and cognitive functions. Dr. Henderson also published a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNQVhBns5-o&t=180s) outlining the science behind the new TBI treatment that stimulates brain restoration processes, which is one of the hottest topics in neuroscience (www.tbi.care/2017/01/national-medical-media-network-ranks-neuro-lasers-work-in-top-10-list/) today.
