SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, USA, February 1, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Elizabeth “Libby” Hayes is an impassioned, enthusiastic and committed Real Estate Agent at Keller Williams City View in San Antonio, Texas.

Libby was born in Binghamton, New York, and attended Rogers Williams College, Rhode Island, before moving to Boston to attend Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She worked at Loomis Sayles and Schumett Bank as Executive Secretary in finance and mutual funds.

Libby went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Regis University, a private, all-girls Roman Catholic school in Massachusetts. She says, “This gave me the ability, knowledge, and self-confidence to work in many different offices as a professional.”

Libby met her husband, Bartlett, during this time. He was attending Boston University Medical School on a Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). HPSP students owe back to the Military a year to year of active duty for schooling and residencies. During this pay-back time, they are stationed at Military hospitals around the country learning and providing health care services to the Military and their families.

Three years later, they got married on a beautiful island in Hawaii and then Bart was matched to a surgery residency program in Miami, Florida. After two years, he was then selected to go to Hanscom Air Force Base to work in the clinic as a full-time Doctor as a Captain.

Soon after, he applied for the Ophthalmologist residency program in San Antonio, Texas. Libby worked at a Title Insurance company and at the Senior PGA Tournaments before they were transferred to Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton, Florida.

After three years, Bart separated from Active Duty and joined the Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel and went into private practice in Bangor, Maine, where he and Libby had their two children, Alexandra and Eric.

Then, 9/11 happened. Libby reflects. “When 9/11 took place, Bart’s squadron got activated and I didn’t see him for 36 hours. Nobody knew what was going on or when the men and women would be back. There is a price that Military dependents pay that no one understands. It’s a sacrifice for career, family and the basic things that most people take for granted, like where is my husband. We become more resilient - often by ourselves…”

Bart’s squadron was called ‘The Maniacs’ and after spending time away from his practice, he decided to get a contract job as an Ophthalmologist in Germany at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

After five years, they were transferred to Biloxi, Mississippi, where he commanded the Surgical Squadron at the hospital on Keesler Air Force Base as an Air Force Colonel.

Libby describes Military life as a ‘rollercoaster’. She says, “It’s a feeling of disorientation, not knowing where we are PCS’ing, and next a terrific experience of wonder, finding ourselves at a new place with new people. But a spouse’s deployment to serve our country creates a ‘hole’, which can lead to feelings of numbness, sadness, and being alone. Of course, I’m constantly worried about the welfare of my spouse. Yet, I must put on a brave face for my children, family and community. I wonder, at times, how we all become so resilient and thrive in this environment.”

The Hayes family moved to Houston, Texas, where Bart entered a two-year fellowship in Retina Surgery, another Military medical program, before moving to San Antonio, where Bart currently works at the San Antonio Military Medical Centers (Wilford Hall and SAMCE), which plays a critical role in patient care, graduate medical education and research, as well as taking care of wounded service members and dependents.

Libby says, “I am so proud of being a part of the United States Military families who are second-to-none. I love investing in people’s lives, while they invest in Real Estate. I absolutely love helping people find a house to make a home. I bring a wealth of knowledge about buying and selling real estate and I genuinely enjoy enlightening people about the process, – especially with Military families who have only a moment’s notice to move and find a new house in a city that they know nothing about.” She continues, “As a Military dependent wife, I always wanted to help Military Veterans and Active-Duty families. I know the pain of moving. If I can take away a little pain of the moving process for a Military family, then that is a success. I'm committed to helping my clients through the real estate process with strong negotiation skills, innovative marketing strategies, and military values for an effortless and smooth transaction.”

Libby earned her Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification from the National Association of Realtors because, she says, “Not every Realtor recognizes the realities of a Military life and all that it entails, so I want to make sure that my Military clients know that I am the only choice for them when they move to the Alamo City of San Antonio. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you with integrity, honesty, and loyalty.”

Aside from San Antonio, Libby’s service areas include Boerne, Helotes, Fair Oaks and Stone Oaks, Texas. She lives in Stone Oaks.
