Former NFL Player Joins the National Child and Adult Care Food Program Forum Board

Gregg Scott continues his journey in providing healthy futures for kids.

MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, January 25, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Greg Scott, Founder and CEO of Cover 3 Foundation (C3F), retired NFL Defensive Lineman and college football coach, became the newest member elected to the National Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Forum Board on January 17, 2017.

Since Scott left coaching he has dedicated his life to fulfilling the needs of children and young adults through athletic programming, confidence building and nutrition. As a member of the Forum board he will further his aspirations to help guide young people onto paths that will help them on their journeys. "I am excited, honored and thankful for this opportunity to serve on the National CACFP Forum Board," stated Scott. As the Forum’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative, Scott will attend events including CACFP focused conferences. “We are confident that Mr. Scott will help fulfill the Forum’s mission to protect the CACFP, to perfect the policies that govern it and to promote CACFP leadership,” stated Chris Clark, Forum Board Member. Scott will make his debut in his new position in Washington DC in March at the CACFP Leadership and Anti-Hunger Policy Conference.

Cover 3 Foundation (formerly Cover 3 Football) was founded in 2009. By covering three essential goals, the Reach, Teach and Feed initiative affects thousands of children every day. “This program affords kids who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn about nutrition, self-confidence and making good choices in their lives,” Scott stated. Scott also manages all programs within the Foundation, including C3’s Kid’s Meals, a CACFP and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). “Kids need to eat year-round, not just during the school year,” stated Scott referencing C3’s Kid’s Meals.

The National CACFP Forum was created to form a community of member organizations dedicated to the ideals of high quality nutrition services for all children in child care settings. The Forum was organized in 1983 and has been recognized in Washington as the leading National CACFP public policy organization.
