Scientists from the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will discuss their research on more than 100 topics at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco next week.

PNNL scientists will discuss their work on climate issues, the fate of carbon in soil, the future of hydroelectric power, the implications of thawing permafrost and myriad other research questions at the meeting, which is expected to draw more than 20,000 scientists from around the world.

PNNL's activity at AGU will be featured on a new website, which will be updated several times each day Monday-Friday, Dec. 12-16. During the conference, the site will feature a rotating carousel of slides featuring PNNL oral presentations, a daily narrative, related videos, and a day-by-day calendar featuring PNNL presentations. The site will also carry the daily impressions of more than two dozen PNNL scientists attending the meeting, as well as a daily Twitter feed from scientists using the hashtag #PNNLatAGU.

Altogether, PNNL scientists will deliver 37 talks, present 65 technical posters, and host a town hall highlighting the capabilities of EMSL, the Environmental Molecular Sciences laboratory, an Office of Science User Facility on the PNNL campus.
