EDENTON, NORTH CAROLINA, USA, August 9, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- T.I.M. Productions announces an open casting call for its feature film “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl,” on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from Noon to 5 p.m. at the Swain Auditorium, 200 East Church St. in Edenton, NC 27932.

WSA Casting will conduct the process. “We are looking to fill the lead role of the young Harriet Jacobs, a slender African American female. All actresses who submit must be over 18, but can portray a 15 year old,” said Casting Director Winsome Sinclair. “A photo of a younger Harriet Jacobs is unavailable.” The last known portrait is shown.

Storyline: Set during the late 1800s in Edenton, NC, Harriet Jacobs spent seven years hiding in her grandmother’s 7’ x 9’ crawl space to escape the tyrannical slave master who refused to stop looking for her. With a $100 bounty on her head, she escapes, writes her autobiography about the horrors of slavery and the abolitionist who helped her to freedom. The screenplay is written by Sakeenah Archibald and Stacey Harkless.

The casting call is open to the public. Filming is expected to begin in 2017 in the Edenton, North Carolina area.
