The oral herpes virus may cause Alzheimer’s Disease, according to a worldwide team of senior scientists. This group is comprised of 31 specialists from Oxford, Edinburgh, Manchester, and Cambridge universities, as well as Imperial College, wrote an editorial that suggested herpes (and other pathogens) as a cause of Alzheimer’s Disease. “The authors say that viruses and bacteria are common in the brains of elderly people, and although they are usually dormant, they can ‘wake up’ after stress or if the immune system is compromised. Around two thirds of people will acquire the herpes virus at some point in their lives, and many will not realise they have it.” (1) The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals who have ever had a cold sore (and therefore are infected with HSV), take Gene-Eden-VIR against the latent herpes virus.
