AUSTIN, TX, USA, March 8, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Next week, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Community will work together to tell their story about the thousands of people working tirelessly every day to combat hunger and bring healthy foods to the table for adults in day care and children in child care homes, centers, and in afterschool and summer feeding programs across the country. Organizations which participate in the CACFP provide 1.96 billion meals and snacks to 3.5 million children and elderly or disabled adults at a cost of $2.87 billion in federal funding.CACFP Week is a national education and information campaign sponsored annually by the National CACFP Sponsors Association (NCA). The campaign is designed to raise awareness of how the USDA's Child and Adult Care Food Program works to combat hunger and bring healthy foods to the table for adults in day care and children in child care homes, centers, and in afterschool and summer feeding programs across the country.
