Independent Candidate for President of the United States Eric Borrell asks for Support in Accessing Michigan Ballot
Secretary of State Allows for Petition Process to Begin
DETROIT, MICHIGAN, USA, December 27, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- As independent candidate for president of the United States Eric Borrell has learned over the past 2 years plus of his candidacy, unique and specific requirements exist for an independent to access each of the ballots in the 50 states and District of Columbia.In Michigan, the Secretary of State, Bureau of Elections office has allowed Borrell to begin the petition process prior to making selection of a vice-presidential candidate, becoming the first state to make this exception. Borrell must forward the name of a vice-presidential candidate along with the names and addresses of 16 electors representing the electoral college to the Bureau of Elections no later than September 6, 2016.
Additionally, for an independent candidate to have his or her name appear on the November 8, 2016 election day ballot signatures must be gathered from 15,000 Michigan residents. At least 100 signatures must come from half (7) of Michigan’s 14 congressional districts. The petitions must be filed by a deadline of 4:00 PM Eastern Time on July 21, 2016.
Borrell, born December 31, 1981 in Warren, MI, who grew up, attended college, and resided in Michigan until early 2008 looks to access the ballot and win his home state with the help of Michigan supporters. Supporters can help in 2 ways, by signing a petition or by volunteering to be an elector in the electoral college. At time of this press release 4 of the 16 electors have been identified.

As for example, a supporter residing in St. Clair Shores, MI would use the petition titled ‘Michigan Petition_Macomb County_9th Congressional District’. For supporters not sure of their congressional district many resources exist on the internet to help. If a supporter requires a petition form that is not posted to the website he or she should contact the candidate who will prepare and distribute the required form.
