New book THE KINGDOM OF THE AIR wins 2015 Adventure Writer's Grandmaster Award
Adventure writing contest awards author C.T. Wells for his book The Kingdom of the Air.
Unfortunately, while en route to the airport in Jakarta to travel to the award ceremony, C.T. and his son were involved in a serious auto accident and were hospitalized. Accepting the award for C.T. was 2008 Grandmaster Award winner Jeff Edwards. "All of us are saddened and shocked that C.T. Wells and his son couldn't make it tonight. They are in all of our prayers and thoughts," said Edwards. Currently, C.T. and his son are recovering at home.
"I will pay "The Kingdom of the Air" the highest compliment I can by saying: I wish I had written this book myself," said Edwards.
"The Kingdom of the Air" is a gripping spy thriller set in Europe during the Battle of Britain, 1940. A young Messerschmitt pilot is shot down over Dartmoor, England and desperately attempts to evade a manhunt, knowing that if he is somehow captured by the British, his war will be over. But when Josef Schafer falls into the hands of a sinister agent of the Special Operations Executive, his troubles have only begun. He is returned to occupied France having made an impossible deal with the British. As the air war escalates, Josef is in danger in the sky and on the land. His allegiances are tested as he is torn between loyalty to his Luftwaffe comrades and a French woman whom he is compelled to serve. The stakes are high. Whoever controls the sky above the English Channel will decide the fate of nations.
The Adventure Writer's Competition director and 2012 winner Peter Greene said after the ceremony, "Congratulations to C.T. on a fantastic book. This was a tough competition with many strong entries. Each had a unique take on the genre of adventure writing. There were some fantastic authors and during the judging, the top spots moved about often. In the end, our champ was C.T. Wells! Well deserved."
In attendance were finalists Charles Kowalski, for his surprising-extremist thriller "Mind Virus" and James Marshall Smith for his super-sleuth versus terrorist novel "Operation Silent Source". "I read the complete manuscripts of each finalist, and I was riveted and thrilled as I read these books," said Greene. "Fantastic accomplishments and congratulations to Charles and James!"

No vampires or romance novels to compete with here! Whether you write like the Grandmaster himself, Clive Cussler, or have your own action-packed style - get onboard and enter your novel in the 2016 contest!”
