WASHINGTON The U.S Department of Transportations Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a $58,350 civil penalty against Buschur Racing of Wakeman, Ohio, for allegedly violating Hazardous Materials Regulations.

The FAA alleges that on November 20, 2014, Buschur Racing offered 10 10-ounce cans of flammable aerosol spray to UPS for shipment by air from Ohio to Quebec, Canada. UPS employees at the companys Milan, Ohio sort facility discovered the hazardous materials.

The FAA alleges the shipment was not accompanied by shipper papers describing the type or quantity of the hazardous materials and was not properly marked or labeled in accordance with the Hazardous Materials Regulations.

Additionally, the FAA alleges the employee who prepared the shipment did not receive required hazardous materials training, and Buschur Racing failed to provide emergency response information with it.

Buschur Racing has asked to meet with the FAA to discuss the case.
