Spark and the Canadian Cancer Society Team Up to Support Fun & Healing for Pediatric Cancer Patients

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, July 23, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Spark, a Vancouver, BC fundraising effort will raise funds for Camp Goodtimes, a Canadian Cancer Society charity which is a medically-supervised summer camp for children with cancer.
Spark is a fundraiser being organized by a mother and daughter team, Pascale Hansen and Natasha Petersen. The family has had cancer and cancer scares in every single generation for decades. The upcoming fundraiser is for Camp Goodtimes, an unforgettable and empowering summer camp experience for kids living with cancer to attend with their families.
On average, more than 800 children under the age of 15 are diagnosed with cancer each year in Canada. Spark aims to raise as much money as possible so more BC children with cancer can enjoy days without hospitals and worries of medicines and sickness. The camp is designed to give pediatric cancer patients and their families days of relaxation and fun.
A positive experience like Camp Goodtimes can help turn a difficult situation into an opportunity for growth. Here's a video explaining the Canadian Cancer Society's support of children with cancer, in which young Casey describes the powerful impact that Camp Goodtimes has had on his life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2B3H7B6n_U&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PL619B6C2B16466784
Spokesperson for Spark had this to say about the fundraiser, "Our objective for the fundraiser is two-fold: to increase awareness to fuel larger ongoing support for the camp and to raise as much as money as possible so we can provide more spots for the many kids in need."
"Picture all the best of camp as you remember it from your childhood, combined with beautiful views and all the glamorous aspects of your favourite luxury gala. There will be a champagne reception with Inner Ring Circus, gourmet meal, exhilarating live auction and a concert, as well as several fun camp-themed activities throughout. It is going to be an event unlike any other!"
"We're hosting this fundraiser because we want to ensure that as many kids as need it can attend this wonderful summer camp of hope, fun and healing. Camp Goodtimes offers a safe, happy place where kids living with cancer can play and just be kids not cancer patients. We need to do this because one kid with cancer is one too many."
100% of net proceeds of the event will go to Camp Goodtimes. Spark is an outdoor gala that will be held at the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish on September 19, 2015. The fundraising committee is currently seeking event sponsors that will help to bear the financial burden of the event, and attendees to buy tickets, as well as donations. Sponsoring the event provides great exposure of your brand to attendees and attending the event with co-workers, clients, or business partners makes a great appreciation event.
