Gazprom Neft announces latest grant awards under its “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility programme

Gazprom Neft has announced its most recent grant awards under its “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. A total 79 projects were selected for 2015, put forward by community action groups, local government agencies, and non-profit organisations throughout those regions in which the company operates.

Competitive tenders were held in the Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, and the Orenburg, Tomsk and Omsk Oblasts, with a total 379 projects presented to regional grant committees (comprising independent experts, local government representatives, local media, and community organisations), for their review. Each of the projects was assessed on the basis of its social significance, creativity and innovation. Educational seminars on project management for social initiatives were organised for grant applicants through the nation-wide consultation centre supporting the Home Towns programme.

Deputy CEO for Corporate Communications Alexander Dybal commented: “We had twice as many applications in 2015. Obviously, this greater number of applicants is indicative of the higher level of interest in the competitive grant awards. But we were keen, this year, to expand the range of applications received — particularly in education and culture. The programme is targeted at increasing the proportion of projects in the creative industries, which need support precisely at the start-up stage.”

The “Home Towns” project brings together all corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects and initiatives implemented by Gazprom Neft throughout those regions in which the company operates. The programme is directed at establishing infrastructure to support children’s and public sports facilities, as well as initiatives in education, health, and in supporting the culture of the indigenous peoples of the North.
