UCB presents on Immunological tolerance and Peptide immunotherapy at Immunogenicity 2015
Following on from the success of the Immunogenicity event last year, SMi announces their 2nd annual Immunogenicity conference on 29-30 June 2015 in London, UK
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, May 19, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Understanding Immunogenicity is a key challenge in the development of therapeutics with many biologics inducing undesirable immune responses directed towards the therapeutic resulting in reduced efficacy, anaphylaxis and occasionally life threatening autoimmunity. SMi’s Immunogenicity conference will explore the latest updates on the prediction and reduction of immunogenicity, clinical results and interpretations and optimising bioassays.SMi are delighted to announce that UCB will be speaking at the event and will have 2 presentations on Immunological tolerance and Peptide immunotherapy.
Presented by Farnaz Fallah-Arani, Group Leader, Pharmacology at UCB, her presentation entitled achieving immunological tolerance – are we there yet, will look at topics such as; can immunological tolerance be achieved clinically?; Pro’s and Con’s of in vitro and in vivo assays of modelling immunological tolerance pre-clinically will be discussed and how well do these pre-clinical models translate into the clinic.
Additionally Emma Smith, Senior Group Leader, UCB, will present on Peptide immunotherapy for the treatment of autoimmune disease – closer to a cure and will look at topics such as; why peptide immunotherapy over conventional treatments?; peptide immunotherapy in preclinical models and translating efficacy from preclinical models into the clinic.
