Military Flight Training 2015 conference featuring timely discussions on how simulation systems can provide realistic mission training in a safe environment and an in depth analysis of the latest political, economic and technological trends discussed by industry leaders.

The 2015 agenda features 3 keynote addresses presented by the Royal Norwegian Air Force (Ret), Royal Canadian Air Force and United States Air Force.

Major General Tom Henry Knutsen, Former Commandant of the Norwegian Defence University College and the RNoAF Academy from the Royal Norwegian Air Force (Ret) will present his keynote address on: NATO air and space power- the future vector project. He will be looking at; the air and space power paradox; the future strategic environment; the consequences for future air warfare and how to build NATO’s air and space power for the future.

The second keynote address will be presented by Brigadier General Philip Garbutt, Director General Air Force Development from the Royal Canadian Air Force. His keynote address on: Exploring the Royal Canadian Air Forces’ future pilot training and simulation strategies, will look at; optimizing the means by which RCAF personnel achieve and maintain mission readiness; fully exploiting advances in both technology and training methodologies for basic and advance flying training; characteristics of future fighter, multi-engine and rotary-wing training streams; transitioning to ground-based, virtual training systems that provide individual and collective modelling and simulation-focused training and leveraging live, virtual, and constructive simulations within a networked common synthetic environment.

The final keynote address will be presented by Colonel Joseph William DeMarco, Commandant at Air Command and Staff College from the United States Air Force. His keynote address on: Pilot transformation: Tactical expert to operational master, will look at; we train stellar pilots, but how do we educate them to become operational masters and eventually strategic decision makers?; education is key: agile, anticipatory leaders who can make bold audacious operational level decisions; educating today’s leaders to solve tomorrow’s problems and advancing airpower thought and theory one leader at a time…
