IT Governance offers 30% off essential training courses as new report warns of lack of cyber security skills
ELY, UK, December 4, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A recent report by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has revealed that cyber security is among six fast-growth industries that could boost the British economy. However, the report warns that there is a shortage of the skills required to meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Another survey, by recruitment firm Robert Half, has found that senior cyber security executives in the UK and US are expected to see a salary rise in 2015. According to the research, chief information security officers (CSOs) at British technology firms are expected to earn between £97,500 and £145,250 in 2015, up 5.7% from 2014. In the US, CSOs will see a 7.1% salary rise to a range of USD$134,250 to USD$204,750 next year.
Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of cyber security provider IT Governance, commented on the research: “These statistics are extremely encouraging for cyber security professionals who want to develop their careers. For organisations, they mean that cyber security is becoming a core competence. Developing a good mixture of skills should be encouraged and supported by employers in order to keep up with evolving threats.”
Calder warns, however, that more needs to be done to help cyber security professionals to fill the skills gap.
To help self-funding delegates and organisations boost cyber security competence, IT Governance has launched a special December training course offer. Anyone who books any December 2014 or January 2015 IT Governance training course before 19 December 2014 will enjoy a 30% discount – based on list price and subject to availability.
Courses include CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, Cyber Essentials and more.
