FDF Launches Event to Boost Start Up Businesses

Small and start-up businesses in food and drink are being given an insight into the secrets of success from leaders in the sector at a one-off free event at London's ExCel conference centre.

The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) will be staging an event at Food Matters Live on November 18 for those registered for the annual event.

FDF has pulled together an impressive line-up of industry experts in finance, insurance, law, PR and digital media and its own experts to offer practical advice to new businesses in food and drink.

The drop-in seminar titled “Give your Business a Boost” will showcase a range of professional industry speaker's from companies including MSL Group, Npower, Ashbury Labelling, Lab, Royal Bank of Scotland, Reynolds Insurance and Currencies Direct as well as providing an invaluable networking opportunity.

Speakers will explain how to nurture and promote a new business so that it can compete within the sector – the UK's largest manufacturing industry. Advice will include:

  • Retail change and implications for suppliers
  • How to get your brand noticed
  • Food labelling
  • Using social media to drive business

Steve Barnes, Economics Commercial Services Director at FDF, said: “This event has been specifically designed for small businesses to gain key knowledge and insight from carefully selected specialists on how best to breakthrough and succeed in the food and drink industry.
