Gazprom UGS constructs sports ground in Bashkortostan

The opening ceremony of a versatile sports ground constructed under the Gazprom for Children program took place in school No. 3 of Kumertau on August 25.

Taking part in the ceremony were Sergey Afonin, Minister of Housing and Utilities of Bashkortostan, Marva Gulmutdinova, representative of the Education Ministry of the Republic, Milana Skorobogatova, Children’s Rights Commissioner, Boris Belyaev, Head of the City District Administration and Sergey Basov, Head of the Bashkiria Directorate for well workover, rescue and recovery operations (branch of Gazprom UGS).

The city Mayor noted, “The gas workers’ present is a strong contribution to the development of the city sports infrastructure. Opening this sports ground is another step on the way to healthy lifestyle.”

In his speech of response, the Head of the Bashkiria Directorate for well workover, rescue and recovery operations particularly pointed out the peculiarities of the new facility, “It is the second versatile sports ground in Kumertau, which we constructed under the Gazprom for Children program. It is designed for playing different sports – football, volleyball, basketball, streetball, handball and even hockey. The eco-friendly surface, manufactured applying the most cutting-edge technologies, is quick-drying after rain, freeze-resistant and in winter it may be easily transformed into a skating rink.”

Young athletes from schools No. 3 and 1 were the first to try out the new ground by holding an exhibition futsal game.
