Navigating food labelling regulation seminar
Food labelling is changing and to help food and drink businesses understand the new legislation the Food and Drink Federation is hosting a seminar on 26 June.
'The Food Information to Consumers Regulation – Taking the Next Steps' event follows on from FDF's successful labelling event held last year and will be a useful follow-up for previous attendees, as well as being suitable for people who are new to the regulation's requirements.
The event will include an overview of the EU Food Information to Consumers Regulation (EU FIC Regulation), as well as detailed insight into allergen, nutrition and origin labelling plus a choice of practical workshops. The EU FIC Regulation , which comes into effect at the end of 2014, will affect many aspects of labelling including nutrition, allergens, country of origin and label design and all food businesses need to ensure they comply with the new requirements.
Barbara Gallani, FDF's Director of Regulatory, Science and Health Division, said:
“The new EU FIC Regulation will make it easier to understand and apply the labelling rules in a way that is consistent across the EU. However, it is also a big challenge for the industry and I would encourage all businesses that need a bit of help with navigating the legislation maze to attend the upcoming event.”
