Angela Coleshill, GLA board member and Director of Employment and Skills at Food and Drink Federation said: As the UK's largest manufacturing sector, we fully support the Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) move to the Home Office, giving it direct access to the intelligence that will enable even tougher and more rigorous enforcement action on underhand employers.

Our industry is committed to retaining the highest employment standards. Working together with the GLA, we will continue to protect vulnerable individuals and stop the illegal exploitation of workers.

We also welcome the report of the House of Lords and House of Commons' Joint Committee on the Draft Modern Slavery Bill, realised earlier this week, which highlighted the work of the GLA as an internationally-respected model of good practice.
