Gazprom Neft acquires terminal complex on the Black Sea
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, the operator ofGazprom Neft’s bunker business, has acquired the assets ofOOO Novorosnefteservis and OOO Novorossiysk Oil Transshipment Complex toprovide the storage and transshipment ofthe marine oil that the company sells inthe Black Sea region.

The new assets, located atthe port ofNovorossiysk, have all ofthe infrastructure needed for transshipment and are designed for the storage ofover 30,000 cubic meters ofpetroleum products atone time. The terminal’s convenient geographic location will make itpossible toensure that Gazpromneft Marine Bunker operates efficiently atall Black Sea ports.
For Gazprom Neft, the creation ofthe company’s own terminal network that consists ofseven sites isone ofthe main goals ofthe company’s bunkering business strategy to2025. Gazpromneft Marine Bunker isalready operating aterminal atthe big port ofSaint Petersburg. The purchase ofthe second complex will enable the company tostrengthen its position onthe Black Sea.
Atpresent, three Gazpromneft Marine Bunker tankers are operating inthe Black Sea region. They provide bunkerage atseaports inNovorossiysk, Tuapse, Temryuk, Taman, and Sochi, aswell asatPort Kavkaz.
According topreliminary estimates, the Black Sea region market in2013 will amount tonearly 2.5 million tons. The region has one ofthe fastest-growing cargo turnovers inRussia, accounting for approximately 25percent ofthe total ofall Russian ports.
“Gazprom Neft’s updated bunker business strategy not only involves developing the company’s own fleet, but creating aterminal network atkey ports ofthe company’s operations aswell. Gazpromneft Marine Bunker plans inthe future toexpand its range offuels and toimplement aproject for the bunkerage ofnatural gas,” said Levan Kadagidze, Director ofthe Gazprom Neft Commercial Directorate.
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker isasubsidiary ofGazprom Neft established in2007 for the provision ofayear-round marine fuel and lubricant supply for sea and river transportation. The enterprise occupies leading positions onRussia’s bunkering market with an18.6 percent market share. Gazpromneft Marine Bunker’s total marine fuel sales volume in2012 reached 2.5 million tons. The company’s direct delivery sales volume rose by38percent to1.8 billion tons.
Atpresent, Gazpromneft Marine Bunker has nine regional representative offices and four subsidiaries. Gazpromneft Shipping manages the company’s fleet. Gazpromneft Terminal SPb operates abunkering oil terminal atthe Kirov Works inSaint Petersburg. The bunkering company Marine Bunker Balkan S.A. sells marine fuels atthe Black Sea port ofConstanța, Romania. ASBaltic Marine Bunker conducts bunkering operations atthe Baltic Sea Port ofTallinn, Estonia.
