HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, USA, January 15, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Huntington Beach, CA---January 15, 2014---Before he carved a niche for himself as the inventor and founder of Simple Green, the worldwide market leader in high quality, environmentally safer cleaning products, Bruce FaBrizio was a gifted athlete. His athletic prowess has earned him a spot in the 2014 class of the Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Athletics Hall of Fame.

Bruce ran track and played football at Mt. SAC. In addition to excelling in sports, he was also an outstanding student and was the valedictorian of his class in the early ‘70s before transferring to Occidental College. After he graduated from college in 1974, Bruce FaBrizio devoted himself full-time to his pro-football career. He played middle linebacker with the NFL's Chicago Bears during the 1974 preseason and with the now-defunct World Football League's Southern California Sun for a full season in 1975.

When the WFL folded in 1976, Bruce returned to South El Monte, where he and his father had developed Simple Green as a safer, biodegradable, nonabrasive alternative to toxic cleaners. Their winning formula was developed long before “environmentally friendly” products were mandated by federal law. Under the business name, Sunshine Makers, Inc., they entered the retail market in 1978 with J.C. Penny’s auto shops as their first chain store customer. The following year, Bruce’s father died. Bruce was committed to honor his dad by growing the business. He launched Simple Green nationally into several new markets, including hardware/do-it-yourself stores, grocery and drug stores, and club stores. Today, close to 40 years later, Sunshine Makers, Inc. operates out of Huntington Beach with satellite offices around the world. The Simple Green family of products has expanded to encompass a wide variety of both consumer and industrial products.

Bruce brings an athlete’s mentality to Simple Green. As a very successful businessman, Bruce strategizes like a coach and believes that if the group he has assembled works together as a team, the company will continue to thrive.

Realizing the importance of “giving back,” Bruce founded the EGBAR (Everything’s Gonna Be All Right) Foundation, whose focus is on raising awareness of environmental issues through education and community cleanup projects.

For these and many other not-so-“Simple” accomplishments, Mt. SAC proudly inducts Bruce FaBrizio into its Athletics Hall of Fame, Class of 2014.
