Airbus Group Spreads Its Wings in Poland

Airbus Group (1) is evaluating the results of its ‘Aerospace Meetings Poland’ event and conclusions are expected to be announced during the first quarter of 2014, as part of the company’s industrial development plan.

Attended by several hundred participants from Polish companies and international suppliers with a presence in the country, the event was held over a period of four days in December, and located in Warsaw and Lodz. Furthermore it attracted participation from Polish government representatives, as well as research institutes and universities.

The event exceeded expectations: more than 200 Polish companies had opportunities to talk about future business opportunities with 60 representatives of Europe’s largest aerospace and defence company; from specialists in procurement, contracting, supply chain management and industrial cooperation, to experts in research and development.

Fabrice Lievin, Vice President Industrial Globalization at Airbus Group said that the event demonstrated the group’s commitment to Poland at a strategic level and its wish to partner with local companies. He said: “The Polish market is very important to us as a whole, and - on top of a major tender for Army helicopters - we have extensive plans for wider development activities and cooperation with Polish companies and engineers. We have been very impressed by the interest these meetings have generated, and it is clear that enhanced cooperation will lead to a win-win position for both the nation and Europe. We want to benefit from Poland’s extensive knowledge, engineering expertise and aerospace experience."

The success of Airbus Group’s ‘Aerospace Meetings Poland,’ underpins the first stage in potentially boosting the company’s presence and activities in Poland.
