ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, October 23, 2013 – LyondellBasell today introduced Purell PE2220D, a high-purity, low density polyethylene (LDPE) resin for use in the production of collapsible tube bodies in applications such as pharmaceutical, personal care and food packaging.  Purell PE2220D is LyondellBasell’s most recent addition to its industry-leading portfolio of Purell resins and offers good processability, optical properties and chemical resistance for high purity customer applications.

Purell PE2220D provides flexibility and softness combined with excellent surface and processing properties. The new resin also supports an optimized conversion ratio on tube extrusion equipment, offering the opportunity to increase throughput compared to current LDPE grades. The new Purell PE2220D resins builds upon the success of LyondellBasell’s portfolio of Purell polypropylene and polyethylene resins known for characteristics such as consistency of formulation, continuity of supply, single sourcing and pharmacopoeia compliance.
