EP Energy now sharing data on their US shale wells
ABERDEEN, UK, July 11, 2013 /EINPresswire.com/ -- EP Energy (formerly El Paso Energy) have committed to sharing key drilling, completions and hydraulic fracturing data on their Eagle Ford, Rockies / Altamont and Wolfcamp wells drilled between 2012 and 2014.
They have joined the “Shale Performance Review” (SPR) to trade their North American offset shale well data with BHP (Petrohawk), Chevron (Atlas), Hess, Husky, Hunt, Marathon, Murphy, Newfield, Nexen, Pioneer, Shell, Statoil (Brigham) Suncor and Talisman.
Established early 2012 in Houston by a group of Operators, the SPR enables the exchange of high quality and reliable data between Operators to aid them with their well planning, budgeting, performance management and benchmarking processes.
Helen Rushmore, Director of the Reviews, whose organisation manages the SPR on behalf of the Operators, said “It is the Operators themselves who decide what data to share and the rules under which this is done. The fact that every participating Operator has committed to provide between three and five years’ worth of data shows how committed these companies are to achieving ‘top quartile’ performance.
