Bren Tower at NTS is demolished
The Bren Tower, before it was demolished at the Nevada Test Site.
The tower, which stood 70 feet taller than the Empire State building, was used by Laboratory programs for a variety of experiments, including tests to better understand radiation dispersion. Constructed in 1962 for radiation experiments by the Atomic Energy Division of Biology and Medicine, the tower was named the Bare Reactor Experiment Nevada, or BREN.
For more about the tower, see the Friday, March 28, 2003 edition of Newsline.
