Governor Wes Moore announced today that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has officially approved Maryland's request for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) declaration. If your small business, agricultural cooperative, or private nonprofit has faced financial disruptions due to the emergency that began on July 9, 2026, you may now qualify for vital low-interest disaster loans.

A SBA Outreach Center is opening in Glen Burnie to provide hands-on assistance and help connect local business owners directly with these critical recovery resources.

Here is what you need to know:

What: SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL)

Who: Eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, and private nonprofits in Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas.

Why: To help cover operating expenses and economic impacts resulting from the structural emergency.

Opening Date: Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

Center Hours:

Monday-Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Center Closing Date: Friday, October 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. 

SBA representatives will be available at the center to assist eligible businesses and nonprofit organizations with applications and answer questions about available assistance.
