Yacht crash kills 3, debris found

Mexico – A boating accident off the US-Mexico coast has reportedly killed three people. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), yacht debris and three bodies were found Sunday after what appeared to be a collision with a larger vessel.
Four sailors were on the yacht, the Aegean, taking part in a 124-mile race from Newport Beach, Calif., to Ensenada, Mexico. The crew was reported missing on Saturday. One sailor remained missing at the time of the AP report. The search for the sailor was suspended Sunday evening.
U.S. Sailing Association President Gary Jobson, is quoted in the report as stating of the multiple racing related accidents that have occurred this year, “I'm horrified. I've done a lot of sailboat racing and I've hit logs in the water, and I've seen a man go overboard, but this takes the whole thing to a new level… We need to take a step back and take a deep breath with what we're doing. Something is going wrong here.”
Officials are still investigating may have caused the yacht to crash. The accident is reportedly the fourth to occur during a California ocean race this month.
