Overland Road Resurfacing Project Starts This Week

Boulder County, Colo. - This week, crews working for the Public Works Department will start a resurfacing project on Overland Road between Jamestown and the end of pavement near Rock Lake Road. Work will consist of removing existing asphalt, rebuilding the ground below, and then repaving with new asphalt. New guardrail and roadway striping will also be installed. Tomorrow morning, crews plan to start removing material that has been deposited on the shoulder before beginning asphalt removal, so expect to see workers along the road.

Travel Impacts

Working hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Travelers can expect delays of up-to 15-minutes in both direction during daytime, weekday operations. Speeds will also be reduced through the work zone.

The surface of the road will be removed down to gravel in multiple portions, so drivers and cyclists are asked to use caution and give crews safe space to work when traveling through the construction zone.

Ridge Road and Hurricane Hill Drive Resurfacing Starts in September

Resurfacing work will also take place on Ridge Road and Hurricane Hill Drive east of Nederland. This work is anticipated to start in mid-September and will have the same working hours and travel impacts. More information will be shared when the start date is known.

Both projects are expected to be complete in November. For more information, visit www.BoCo.org/ConeZones, or contact Andrew Barth, Public Works Communications Manager, at abarth@bouldercounty.gov or 303-441-1032.
