Sign Up for Next ‘Medicare 101’ Session Aug. 27

Aug. 13, 2026

The Oswego County Office for the Aging (OFA) hosts ‘Medicare 101’ sessions to help current and soon-to-be Medicare beneficiaries understand the basics of how health care under Medicare works.

“Medicare participants face a wide variety of health care options, which can be confusing for them to try to navigate on their own,” said OFA Director Sara Sunday. “This is especially true for our baby boomers who are just becoming eligible for the program, as well as for those already receiving benefits who are reviewing their coverage options.”

‘Medicare 101’ sessions are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. Meetings are held virtually on Zoom and in-person at the Oswego County Office for the Aging, located at 74 Bunner St., Oswego.

The next session will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27.

“The program lasts about an hour,” she added. “Participants planning to attend virtually will be sent an email with the link to access the session. Those planning to attend in our office will receive a notice about how to get to our building and where the meeting room will be.”

Registration is required for both virtual and in-person attendees. For more information or to reserve a space in a session, call Oswego County OFA at 315-349-3484.
