Executive Extends State of Emergency

CONTINUING MARCH 15, 2020 STATE OF EMERGENCY DUE TO COVID-19

WHEREAS, on March 15, 2020 I, Matthew L. Ossenfort, issued a local State of Emergency in Montgomery County due to COVID-19; and

WHEREAS,  Governor Cuomo also issued Executive Order Number 202, declaring a State disaster emergency for the entire State of New York.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Matthew L. Ossenfort, find and determine that COVID-19 continues to imperil the safety to Montgomery County residents and is an urgent, imminent or impending threat qualifying as a disaster under New York State Executive Law; and

By virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 24 of the New York Executive Law, I hereby proclaim that there continues to be a State of Emergency throughout the entirety of Montgomery County and hereby continue the March 15, 2020 State of Emergency due to COVID-19.

THIS PROCLAMATION SHALL TAKE EFFECT APRIL 14, 2020 AND REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL ITS EXPIRATION IN THIRTY (30) DAYS UNLESS REMOVED OR CONTINUED BY ORDER OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE.
